The Journey Begins

This will be the first of many posts where I share with you my journey to starting a business.
To be really honest I've “started” a few business but not really.
If you are an entrepreneur at heart you know exactly what I mean.
There’s this moments or this process that happens when suddenly you have a great idea.
Since I’m into tech at least from the users end, I dive right it with names, logos, securing domains, social media properties and printed material.
Mentally, I can visualize how awesome this is going to be, how many people will be served and how great an opportunity this will be for me and my family.
Then crickets.  Why is that you might ask? Cause I never had a real plan.

Hard truth, I know.  I don’t like it but truth sets you free, right?
“A goal without a plan is just a wish.” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Ideas are easy to come by but it’s the executive of those ideas that separate the dreamers from the doers.  Another hard truth pill I had to swallow.

Now that I’m thinking about it, another fault of mine was the constant need for approval.  I would want others to love my idea before I would even attempt to act on it.
I have since learned that seeking approval from others is usually a bad idea.
Not everyone is a dreamer, not everyone grasp the vision and not everyone wants you to succeed.
I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for Maya Angelou, Madame Cj Walker, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Patricia Bath and Oprah to push forward in the face of I bet was great negativity.
There is an art to the start of just about everything we experience in life.  I believe I am well on my way to mastering the art of the start.
